Target Information
Neuron specific enolase (NSE, ENO1, ENO2, ENO3)는 해당과정에서 2-phosphoglycerate를 phosphoenolpyruvate로 전환시키는 효소로, 신경세포 손상 시 세포외액과 뇌척수액으로 쉽게 확산됩니다.
NSE는 세 가지 포유류 enolase 중 하나로, ENO1(α), ENO2(γ), ENO3(β)로 구분됩니다. γ-subunit은 주로 뉴런과 신경내분비세포에서 발현됩니다. NSE와 chromogranin A의 공발현은 신경내분비 종양에서 흔히 관찰됩니다.
NSE는 신경세포체, 신경발달계 세포 및 신경내분비세포의 표지자로 사용되며, 손상된 뉴런으로부터 방출된 NSE는 신경손상의 바이오마커로 활용됩니다. 임상적으로는 뇌졸중, 저산소성 뇌손상, 간질중첩증, Creutzfeldt-Jakob 병, 헤르페스성 뇌염 등에서 신경 손상 지표로 사용됩니다. 또한 소아 신경모세포종 및 소세포폐암 등 일부 종양에서 NSE 농도가 상승합니다.
