Target Information

Fibrinogen is the main protein of the blood coagulation system. It consists of two identical subunits containing three polypeptide chains: alpha, beta, and gamma. During coagulation, thrombin converts fibrinogen into fibrin, which then polymerizes to form a clot. Plasmin subsequently digests the fibrin clot, releasing fibrin degradation products of various molecular weights into the bloodstream.
