Target Information
PLK4 (Polo-like kinase 4) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that localizes to centrioles and regulates centriole duplication during the cell cycle. Overexpression induces multiple procentrioles around existing centrioles, leading to centriole amplification and Plk4-induced centriole biogenesis. Reduced PLK4 expression increases mitotic error risk and cancer development.
