Product Specific Information
MA1-06815 detects reticulon-1C (NSP-C) in human, porcine, and rat samples.
It has been successfully used in flow cytometry, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry procedures.
By Western blot, it detects a ~23 kDa band representing reticulon-1C.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide encompassing the unique 20 N-terminal amino acid sequence of reticulon-1C.
Target Information
Reticulon-1 (NSP) is specifically expressed in neural and neuroendocrine tissues.
The NSP gene is mapped to human chromosome 14q21–q22 and encodes three overlapping proteins:
- Reticulon-1A (NSP-A): ~135 kDa, multiple isoforms depending on serine phosphorylation, marker for neuroendocrine differentiation in lung cancer.
- Reticulon-1B (NSP-B): 45 kDa phosphoprotein, restricted to lung cancer cell line NCI-H82, not found in human tissues.
- Reticulon-1C (NSP-C): 23 kDa, non-phosphorylated, found with Reticulon-1A in SCLC cell lines, absent in non-SCLC cultures.
