This antibody detects endogenous levels of RBL2 only when phosphorylated at Thr642.
Target Information
RBL2 (also known as p130) or Retinoblastoma-like protein 2 is a key regulator of cell cycle entry. It contributes to heterochromatin formation by stabilizing histone methylation, particularly of constitutive heterochromatin. RBL2 recruits histone methyltransferases KMT5B and KMT5C, leading to epigenetic transcriptional repression and control of histone H4 Lys20 trimethylation. It also acts as a transcriptional repressor by recruiting chromatin-modifying enzymes to promoters and serves as an inhibitor of E2F-mediated trans-activation, associating preferentially with E2F5.
