Western blot analysis of MA1-013 detects an approximately 21 kDa protein.
Target Information
The RAP1A gene encodes a member of the RAS-related protein family. These proteins share about 50% amino acid identity with classical RAS proteins and have similar structural features. The key difference lies at the 61st amino acid position—glutamine in RAS is replaced by threonine in RAP proteins. RAP1A counteracts the mitogenic function of RAS by interacting competitively with RAS GAPs and RAF. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
