Target Information
Cell cycle regulated protein ubiquitination and degradation within subcellular domains is essential for normal mitotic progression. APC7 is a conserved component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls mitosis and G1 phase progression.
APC/C degrades anaphase inhibitors, mitotic cyclins, and spindle-associated proteins, ensuring proper mitotic sequence. APC7 contributes to APC/C-mediated ubiquitination and facilitates APC/C interactions with transcription coactivators.
