Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences are cloned from immunoreactive rabbits, and individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
The SHIP1 gene belongs to the inositol polyphosphate-5-phosphatase (INPP5) family and encodes a protein with:
- N-terminal SH2 domain
- Inositol phosphatase domain
- Two C-terminal protein interaction domains
Expression is restricted to hematopoietic cells, where movement from the cytosol to the plasma membrane is mediated by tyrosine phosphorylation. At the plasma membrane, the protein hydrolyzes the 5′ phosphate from phosphatidylinositol (3,4,5)-trisphosphate and inositol-1,3,4,5-tetrakisphosphate, thereby modulating multiple signaling pathways. It functions as a negative regulator of myeloid cell proliferation and survival. Alternate splice variants encoding different isoforms have been characterized.
