Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

OLIG2 encodes a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor expressed in oligodendroglial tumors of the brain. It regulates ventral neuroectodermal progenitor cell fate and is involved in a chromosomal translocation t(14;21)(q11.2;q22) associated with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
The gene is located within chromosome 21, a region implicated in learning deficits associated with Down syndrome.
Tissue specificity: Expressed in the brain, in oligodendrocytes; strongly expressed in oligodendrogliomas; weak to moderate expression in astrocytomas; variable expression in glioblastomas.
