Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, approximately 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human BMP-7 is observed.
- Less than 1% cross-reactivity with rhBMP-2, rhBMP-4, rhBMP-5 (mature), rhBMP-8A, and recombinant mouse BMP-6.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
BMP6 belongs to the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) family, a group of secreted signaling molecules capable of inducing ectopic bone growth. Many BMPs are part of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily.
BMPs were first identified for their ability to induce endochondral osteogenesis in vivo at extraskeletal sites.
BMP6 is expressed early in embryogenesis and is thought to play a role in early development.
Due to its similarity to BMP5 and BMP7, BMP6 may have bone inductive activity.
