Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons and are composed predominantly of three major proteins: NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H. The expression of these neuronal intermediate filament proteins is both tissue-specific and developmentally regulated. NF-H plays a crucial role in mature axons and is associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
