This antibody detects endogenous levels of total CYP4X1 protein.
Target Information
Chromosome 1 is the largest human chromosome, spanning about 260 million base pairs and comprising approximately 8% of the human genome. It contains around 3,000 genes, many of which are associated with various diseases. Examples include:
- LMNA gene: Associated with Hutchinson-Gilford progeria; defects cause nuclear abnormalities.
- MUTYH gene: Linked to familial adenomatous polyposis.
- DISC1 gene: Breakpoints in 1q region associated with schizophrenia.
- Other diseases related to chromosome 1 include Stickler syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, Gaucher disease, and Usher syndrome.
Aberrations in chromosome 1 are implicated in multiple cancers such as head and neck cancer, malignant melanoma, and multiple myeloma. The CYP4X1 gene product has been provisionally designated CYP4X1 pending further characterization.
