Target Information
Wnt-7a는 배아 및 성체 조직의 항상성 유지에 중요한 역할을 하는 Wnt 신호 단백질 계열에 속합니다.
주로 태반, 신장, 고환, 자궁, 태아 폐, 그리고 태아 및 성인 뇌에서 발현됩니다.
대부분의 Wnt 단백질은 canonical Wnt pathway를 통해 신호를 전달하며, 이는 Frizzled 수용체를 활성화하여 β-catenin의 분해를 억제하고, 핵 내로 이동한 β-catenin이 TCF/LEF 전사인자와 결합하여 다양한 유전자의 발현을 유도합니다.
Wnt/β-catenin 신호의 증가는 여러 암종에서 종양 형성과 관련이 있으나, Wnt-7a/Frizzled-9 신호는 비소세포 폐암에서 종양 억제 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
