Product Specific Information

Description:
The 390 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD31 (PECAM-1, gpIIa), a 130–140 kDa surface protein expressed by endothelial cells and at low levels on leukocytes and platelets. CD31 mediates homotypic adhesion and plays roles in cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions and signal transduction.

Applications Reported:
Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells. Recommended ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell count per test: 10⁵–10⁸ cells. Antibody titration recommended for optimal results.

Fluorochrome Information:
Super Bright 600 is excited by the violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 600 nm; use a 610/20 bandpass filter. Ensure instrument compatibility.

Usage Recommendations:

• When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.
• Protect vial and stained samples from light (photo-induced oxidation sensitivity).
• Fixed samples can be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333).

Target Information

CD31 (PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T and B cell signaling through ITIM-mediated phosphorylation, providing docking sites for protein-tyrosine phosphatases. It is mainly expressed at endothelial junctions and mediates homophilic binding crucial for cell-cell interactions. CD31 functions in integrin-mediated adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, immune regulation, and thrombosis.
