- 0.5 µg/mL of MA5-45283 was sufficient for detection of GRP78 in 10 µg of HeLa cell lysate by ECL immunoblot analysis.

Target Information
GRP78 is a 78 kDa glucose-regulated protein belonging to the heat shock protein family (HSP70). It resides in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and transiently associates with newly synthesized secretory and membrane proteins. GRP78 interacts with misfolded proteins, marking them for degradation. The conserved sequence Lys-Asp-Glu-Leu (KDEL) at the C-terminus ensures ER retention via the KDEL receptor. GRP78 plays a crucial role in protein folding, ER homeostasis, and prevention of apoptosis. Altered GRP78 levels are associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and drug resistance in cancer cells.
