Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Target Information

Conventional kinesin is a tetrameric molecule composed of two heavy chains and two light chains, transporting various cargos along microtubules toward their plus ends. Heavy chains provide motor activity, while light chains bind to cargos.
This gene encodes a member of the kinesin light chain family that associates with kinesin heavy chain through an N-terminal domain. Six tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) motifs are involved in cargo binding, including vesicles, mitochondria, and the Golgi complex.
Kinesin light chains act as adapter molecules rather than motors. Although previously named “kinesin 2,” this gene is not part of the kinesin-2 heavy chain subfamily. Extensive alternative splicing produces isoforms with different C-termini, proposed to bind various cargos; however, the full-length nature of some variants remains undetermined.
