Target Information
ICAD (Inhibitor of Caspase-3-Activated DNase)는 핵 내 세포사멸 과정에서 DNA 절단을 조절하는 단백질로, CAD(Caspase-Activated DNase)의 억제제 역할을 합니다.
ICAD는 두 가지 아이소폼(ICAD-L/DFF45, ICAD-S/DFF35)을 가지며, ICAD-L만 기능적 활성을 보입니다. Caspase-3에 의해 ICAD가 절단되면 CAD가 활성화되어 핵 내 DNA 절편화를 유도합니다.
비세포사멸 상태에서는 CAD가 ICAD와 복합체를 이루며, ICAD는 CAD의 접힘을 돕는 샤페론 역할도 수행합니다. 최근 연구에서는 ICAD가 대장암 및 뇌암 세포에서 정상적인 세포사멸 신호 회복을 위한 잠재적 표적 단백질로 보고되고 있습니다.
ICAD 유전자는 두 가지 상이한 아이소폼을 생성하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사체를 포함합니다.
