Target Information
The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an essential cellular process for degrading abnormal or short-lived proteins. Ubiquitination involves three enzyme classes: E1 (ubiquitin-activating), E2 (ubiquitin-conjugating), and E3 (ubiquitin-protein ligases). UBE2B belongs to the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family and is required for post-replicative DNA damage repair. Its protein sequence is 100% identical among mouse, rat, and rabbit homologs, indicating strong conservation across eukaryotic evolution.
