For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to reach a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform desalting again using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

CD33 is a transmembrane protein belonging to the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec) family.
It contains immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs) that recruit protein tyrosine phosphatases SHP-1 and SHP-2 for signal transduction and receptor regulation.
CD33 is expressed on myelomonocytic lineage cells, binds sialic acid residues on cell surfaces, and serves as a therapeutic target for acute myeloid leukemia.
It is also found on granulocyte and macrophage precursors in bone marrow, but not on pluripotent stem cells.
CD33 is a useful marker for peripheral monocytes and for distinguishing myelogenous leukemia cells from lymphoid or erythroid leukemias.
Diseases associated with CD33 dysfunction include gallbladder lymphoma and extracutaneous mastocytoma.
