For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD33 is a transmembrane protein belonging to the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec) family. It contains immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs) that recruit SHP-1 and SHP-2 phosphatases, contributing to signal regulation and receptor internalization.
CD33 is expressed on myelomonocytic lineage cells, binding sialic acid residues in N- and O-glycans, and is a key therapeutic target for acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
It is found on granulocyte and macrophage precursors in bone marrow but not on pluripotent stem cells, and serves as a marker for peripheral monocytes.
CD33 is useful for distinguishing myelogenous leukemia from lymphoid or erythroid leukemias.
Diseases associated with CD33 dysfunction include gallbladder lymphoma and extracutaneous mastocytoma.
