Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
SUMO (small ubiquitin-related modifier) proteins regulate various cellular processes such as transcription, DNA repair, nucleocytoplasmic trafficking, and chromosome segregation. SUMO precursor proteins undergo cleavage after the GG region by SUMO-specific proteases during maturation, which is essential for sumoylation. The sentrin-specific (or SUMO-specific) protease (SENP) family belongs to the peptidase C48 family and includes SENP1–3 and SENP5–8. SENP1, SENP2, and SENP3 degrade UBL1 and SMT3H2 conjugates, releasing monomers from sumoylated substrates.
