Target Information
Heterotrimeric guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) integrate signals between receptors and effector proteins and are composed of alpha, beta, and gamma subunits. These subunits are encoded by families of related genes. The gene encoding the beta subunit is an important regulator of alpha subunits and certain signal transduction receptors and effectors. It contains a trinucleotide (CCG) repeat length polymorphism in its 5′ UTR.
