Target Information
SLC6A13 catalyzes sodium- and chloride-dependent transport of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) to terminate GABA-mediated synaptic activity. It acts as a high-affinity GABA transporter, reuptaking GABA into cells using sodium and chloride gradients, and may also aid in beta-alanine transport.
Diseases associated with SLC6A13 include Traumatic Glaucoma and Neovascular Glaucoma.
