Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. The product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Anti-Alkaline Phosphatase is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis against the specified buffer. Immunoelectrophoresis assay shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified or partially purified Alkaline Phosphatase [E.coli]. Cross-reactivity with other sources of Alkaline Phosphatase may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
Alkaline phosphatase is a homodimeric enzyme (~86 kDa) containing two zinc atoms per monomer, essential for catalytic activity, and is optimally active in alkaline pH. It is present in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes with conserved function but structural variations adapted to each organism. ALP plays a role in liver metabolism and skeletal development. In bacteria, it serves as a source of inorganic phosphate, and in yeast, it aids in studying membrane protein sorting.
