This peptide corresponds to 18 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human SAE2.
PEP-1072 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20958.
Target Information
UBA2 is involved in covalent attachment of one protein to another, a key posttranslational modification. Ubiquitin is the most familiar of these modifiers, and its activation and transfer to target proteins have been studied extensively.
Recently, a new group of ubiquitin-like proteins, including SUMO (Sentrin), has gained attention. SUMO is implicated in stabilization and localization of target proteins to sub-cellular complexes.
Conjugation of SUMO-1, SUMO-2, and SUMO-3 onto target proteins requires the concerted action of the E1-activating enzyme SAE1/SAE2, the E2-conjugating enzyme Ubc9, and an E3-like SUMO ligase.
