This peptide corresponds to 15 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human MMS21.
PEP-1076 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20962.
Target Information
This gene encodes the large subunit of DNA damage-binding protein, which is a heterodimer composed of a large and a small subunit. This protein functions in nucleotide-excision repair. Its defective activity causes the repair defect in patients with xeroderma pigmentosum complementation group E (XPE). However, further mutation analysis is required to determine whether the defect in XPE patients lies in this gene or in the gene encoding the small subunit. Additionally, Best vitelliform macular dystrophy is mapped to the same region as this gene on 11q, but no sequence alterations of this gene are demonstrated in Best disease patients.
