Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, chicken, amphibian, mouse, and rat based on sequence homology.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is tonsil tissue.
Target Information
Poly ADP-Ribose Polymerase (PARP) uses nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (oxidized form) NAD as a substrate to catalyze the transfer of ADP-ribose to various nuclear protein acceptors.
Proteolysis of PARP to its stable 85 kDa fragment is an early marker of programmed cell death (apoptosis) and is mediated by the caspase CPP32 protein.
Cleavage occurs between Adp216 and Gly217, a site conserved across species.
