Specificity: Human IFNAR2
Target Information
Type I interferons (IFN-α and IFN-β) are structurally and functionally related proteins induced by viruses or double-stranded RNA. They confer an antiviral state in cells.
IFN-α and IFN-β compete for a common cell surface receptor, while IFN-γ binds to a distinct receptor. The IFN-α/β receptor (IFNAR) includes two alternatively spliced transcripts, IFNAR1 and IFNAR2, both involved in ligand binding and signal transduction.
