Antibody detects endogenous levels of total WTAP.
Target Information
Wilms' tumor (WT) is an embryonal kidney malignancy affecting 1 in 10,000 infants, observed in both sporadic and inherited forms.
The Wilms' tumor protein (WT1) binds the DNA sequence GCGGGGGCG, acting as a transcriptional repressor.
WTAP (Wilms tumor 1-associating protein) is a nuclear protein interacting with WT1 and regulating mRNA splicing.
WTAP localizes to nuclear speckles and regulates the G2/M cell cycle transition by binding to the 3′ UTR of cyclin A2, enhancing its stability.
Additionally, WTAP inhibits WT1 target gene expression and reduces WT1 DNA-binding ability.
Two isoforms of WTAP exist due to alternative splicing.
