MA1-723 detects RGS9-1 protein from bovine and mouse samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot, immunocytochemistry, and immunoprecipitation procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects a ~57 kDa protein representing RGS-1 protein from bovine retinal extracts.
The MA1-723 immunogen is full length, bacterially expressed RGS9-1 protein.

RGS is a family of GTPase accelerating proteins (GAPs). RGS9 is a member of this family and is the predominant source of GAP activity in rod outer segments.
RGS9-1, found predominately in vertebrate cone and rod photoreceptors, is a useful model for understanding how rapid recovery kinetics of the light responses in retinal photoreceptors take place.
