- Description: The 6H2 antibody reacts with the native form of mouse, human, and rat cytochrome c.
- Applications Reported: Reported for use in intracellular flow cytometric analysis.
- Applications Tested: Tested by intracellular flow cytometric analysis at ≤1 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number can range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information
Cytochrome C is an electron-transporting protein located in the mitochondrial intermembrane space, essential for oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production. Upon apoptotic stimulation, cytochrome C is released into the cytosol where it binds apoptotic protease activating factor, activating procaspase 9 and subsequently caspase 3, a key effector in apoptosis.
