Product Specific Information
This antibody does not react with bacteria, Helminths, or Spinach.
For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the chaperonin family. The encoded mitochondrial protein may function as a signaling molecule in the innate immune system and is essential for the folding and assembly of newly imported proteins in the mitochondria.
The gene is adjacent to a related family member, and the region between the two genes functions as a bidirectional promoter. Several pseudogenes have been associated with this gene. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
Mutations in this gene cause autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia 13.
