Product Specific Information

  • For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the chaperonin family. The encoded mitochondrial protein functions as a signaling molecule in the innate immune system and is essential for folding and assembly of newly imported mitochondrial proteins. The gene is adjacent to a related family member, with a bidirectional promoter between them. Several pseudogenes are associated with this gene. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified. Mutations in this gene cause autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia 13.
