Target Information
Neuronal apoptosis inhibitor protein (NAIP)는 최초로 발견된 인간 IAP(inhibitor of apoptosis protein)으로, 척수성 근위축증(spinal muscular atrophy)과의 연관성으로 확인되었습니다.
IAP 패밀리 단백질은 약 70개의 아미노산으로 구성된 baculovirus IAP repeat (BIR) 모티프를 포함하며, caspase-3, -7, -9 및 TRAF 계열 신호 분자와 상호작용합니다.
다른 IAP와 달리 NAIP는 caspase-9 결합에 ATP가 필요하며 Smac/DIABLO에 의해 억제되지 않아 독특한 조절 메커니즘을 가집니다.
현재까지 하나의 인간 NAIP 단백질이 확인되었으나, 짧은 형태의 mRNA 전사체들도 보고되었습니다.
