Product Specific Information
This antibody detects recombinant human and mouse BMP-6 in direct ELISAs and mouse BMP-6 in Western blots.
In direct ELISAs, approximately 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse BMP-5 and BMP-7 is observed.
Reconstitute in sterile PBS to a final concentration of 0.2 mg/mL.
Target Information
BMP6 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein 6) is a member of the BMP family, which are secreted signaling molecules capable of inducing ectopic bone growth.
BMPs belong to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily.
Originally identified by their ability to induce endochondral osteogenesis in vivo, BMP6 is expressed early in embryogenesis and is thought to play a role in early development.
Due to its similarity to BMP5 and BMP7, BMP6 is also speculated to possess bone inductive activity.
