• Immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed samples):
  Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  For formalin-fixed tissues, heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

Laminins are extracellular matrix glycoproteins and major non-collagenous constituents of basement membranes. They are involved in cell adhesion, differentiation, migration, signaling, neurite outgrowth, and metastasis. Many effects of laminin are mediated through interactions with cell surface receptors, including integrins and non-integrin laminin-binding proteins.

The RPSA gene encodes a high-affinity, non-integrin laminin receptor (also known as 67 kDa laminin receptor, 37 kDa laminin receptor precursor (37LRP), or p40 ribosome-associated protein). Its amino acid sequence is highly conserved, suggesting a key biological function. Elevated expression of this receptor has been observed in colon carcinoma and lung cancer cell lines compared to normal tissues, correlating with invasive and metastatic potential. Multiple pseudogene copies exist, likely from retropositional events. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
