ZCCHC3는 DNA 및 RNA 바이러스에 대한 선천적 면역 반응에 관여하는 핵산 결합 단백질입니다. 세포질 내에서 DNA 및 RNA를 인식하며, DDX58/RIG-I, IFIH1/MDA5, CGAS 등의 바이러스 센서가 바이러스 핵산을 인식하도록 촉진합니다.
또한 dsDNA를 인식하는 공동 센서로 작용하여 CGAS의 활성화를 돕고, dsRNA 결합을 통해 RIG-I 및 MDA5의 인식과 활성화를 촉진합니다.
