Target Information
Tau는 신경세포 축삭에서 주로 발견되는 미세소관 결합 단백질로, 튜불린 중합을 촉진하고 미세소관을 안정화하는 역할을 합니다.
C-말단은 축삭 미세소관에 결합하고 N-말단은 신경 세포막 구성 요소와 결합하여, Tau가 두 구조 사이의 연결 단백질로 작용함을 시사합니다.
Tau의 과인산화 형태는 Alzheimer’s disease(AD) 뇌에서 신경섬유 엉킴(neurofibrillary tangles)의 주요 구성 요소로 알려져 있으며, 미세소관 결합 기능을 손상시켜 신경세포 퇴화를 유발합니다.
Tau 인산화에는 GSK-3β, PKA, CDK5, casein kinase II 등의 다양한 세린/트레오닌 키나아제가 관여합니다.
과인산화된 Tau는 Pick’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, corticobasal degeneration, progressive supranuclear palsy 등 여러 신경계 질환에서도 발견됩니다.
