This 5E7 monoclonal antibody recognizes mouse B lymphocyte-induced maturation protein-1 (Blimp-1), also known as Prdm1.
Blimp-1 is a transcriptional repressor with five zinc finger domains, expressed by terminally differentiating B and T cells, some dendritic cells, and NK cells.
It is essential for B cell differentiation into plasma cells and acts as a critical antagonist of CD4+ follicular helper T cell differentiation.
Blimp-1 promotes effector molecule secretion while suppressing proliferation and antagonizes Bcl-6, inhibiting genes related to memory cell differentiation.

Applications Reported: Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of splenocytes from sheep red blood cell-immunized mice. Recommended ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Careful titration is recommended for optimal assay performance.

Target Information

Blimp-1 (B lymphocyte maturation protein-1) is a nuclear protein with five zinc fingers in its carboxy terminus.
It is a transcriptional repressor required and sufficient for terminal differentiation of B lymphocytes and monocyte/macrophages.
Blimp-1 is expressed in terminally differentiated epithelial cells, retinal neurons, and other lineage cells, and is implicated in repression of IFN-β and c-myc gene expression.
