Target Information
Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase belonging to the SRC-related TEC subfamily of tyrosine kinases. Mutations in the BTK gene are associated with developmental blocks in human B-cell ontogeny and immunodeficiency disorders. BTK interacts with members of the toll-like receptor (TLR) family such as TLR4, TLR6, TLR8, and TLR9, which are key molecules in innate and adaptive immunity. It also interacts with proteins involved in TLR4 signaling, including MyD88, TIRAP, and IRAK, but not TRAF-6, suggesting a role in lipopolysaccharide signal transduction.
