PIP4K2A (phosphatidylinositol-5-phosphate 4-kinase, type II, alpha)는 phosphatidylinositol-5-phosphate의 4번째 hydroxyl기를 인산화하여 phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate를 생성하는 효소입니다. 이 효소는 phosphoinositide 신호전달 경로에서 중요한 역할을 하며, 분비, 세포 증식, 분화, 이동 조절에 관여합니다. 또한 beta-globin 유전자 발현 조절 및 alpha-thalassemia 환자의 Hb H 수준과 관련이 있을 수 있습니다. 관련 질환으로는 B-Lymphoblastic Leukemia/Lymphoma With Hyperdiploidy 및 Bipolar Disorder가 보고되어 있습니다.
