플라즈마막 Na⁺/Ca²⁺ 교환체(NaCX)는 다양한 세포 유형에서 Na⁺ 의존적 Ca²⁺ 배출을 매개합니다.
NaCX는 막을 가로지르는 Na⁺, Ca²⁺, K⁺ 농도 구배에 따라 Ca²⁺를 세포 내 또는 외로 이동시킬 수 있습니다.
포유류에서는 세 가지 NaCX(NaCX-1, NaCX-2, NaCX-3)와 두 가지 NaCKX(NaCKX-1, NaCKX-2) 유전자가 존재합니다.
NaCX-1은 심장에서 가장 강하게 발현되며, 흥분-수축 연계에 중요한 역할을 합니다 (Matsuoka et al., 1993).
또한 NACX-1은 허혈 및 재관류 손상으로부터 심장과 뇌를 보호하는 잠재적 표적일 수 있습니다 (Hagihara et al., 2005; Bano et al., 2005; Choi, 2005).
