이 효소는 포도당 항상성의 음성 조절자이며, 염증, ER 스트레스, 미토콘드리아 기능 이상, 세포사멸 경로 등에 관여합니다.
또한 Wnt/β-catenin 신호전달 경로의 핵심 구성 요소로, β-catenin 분해를 매개하여 Wnt 신호를 억제합니다.
Hedgehog, Notch, 인슐린 신호전달 경로에도 관여합니다.
