This peptide corresponds to 16 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human GBP5.
PEP-1584 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-34541.
For use as a blocking peptide in Western blot, incubate the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30 min at 37ºC.
Target Information
The guanylate-binding proteins (GBPs) are a family of interferon-induced GTP-binding proteins that function in innate immunity against microbial and viral pathogens.
In humans, there are seven GBPs (hGBP1 to hGBP7).
Human GBP1 and GBP2 exhibit antiviral activity and regulate inhibition of proliferation and invasion of endothelial cells in response to interferon (IFN).
GBP5 promotes selective NALP3 inflammasome responses to pathogenic bacteria and soluble but not crystalline inflammasome priming agents.
