Target Information
EpoR encodes the erythropoietin receptor, a member of the cytokine receptor family. When erythropoietin binds to this receptor, it activates Jak2 tyrosine kinase, which triggers intracellular signaling pathways such as Ras/MAP kinase, phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase, and STAT transcription factors. Activated EpoR supports erythroid cell survival. Mutations in the EPOR gene may lead to erythroleukemia and familial erythrocytosis, and dysregulation can influence tumor growth. Multiple transcript variants are generated through alternative splicing.
