Target Information
EEF2 catalyzes the GTP-dependent ribosomal translocation step during translation elongation.
During this process, the ribosome transitions from the pre-translocational (PRE) to the post-translocational (POST) state, facilitating the movement of A-site-bound peptidyl-tRNA and P-site-bound deacylated tRNA to the P and E sites, respectively.
This enzyme coordinates the movement of tRNAs, mRNA, and ribosomal conformational changes essential for protein synthesis.
