Anti-Histone H3 [p Ser28] reacts with human Histone H3. BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with Human, Mouse, and C. elegans. Predicted to react with Rat, Chicken, Xenopus, Drosophila, and Plant based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with Histone H3 from other sources has not been determined.
Target Information
Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, it binds DNA to form the nucleosome structure. Histones are central to transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability. Post-translational modifications of histones alter chromatin structure or facilitate the binding of transcription factors. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 undergoes modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influencing cellular processes.
