Description:
The monoclonal antibody HP-F1 recognizes CD85j (ILT2, LILRB1, LIR1), a member of the immunoglobulin-like transcript (ILT)/LIR/MIR family. CD85j is a single transmembrane glycoprotein with four ITIM motifs that signal through SHP-1. It is expressed on myeloid cells (monocytes, dendritic cells) and subsets of NK, T, and B lymphocytes. Expression is associated with leukemias (ALL, CLL) and effector cell function in viral infections such as HIV, EBV, and CMV. Ligands include MHC Class I molecules (HLA-G, A, F, B27, E, F).

The HP-F1 antibody reduces CD16-dependent cytolytic activity of NK cells.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on normal human peripheral cells at ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Optimal titration recommended.
Storage and Handling: Use in a sterile environment.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Purity: >90% (SDS-PAGE).
Endotoxin Level: <0.001 ng/µg antibody (LAL assay).

Target Information

This gene belongs to the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family located at 19q13.4. The encoded protein contains two to four extracellular Ig domains, a transmembrane region, and two to four ITIM motifs. Expressed on immune cells, it binds MHC class I molecules on antigen-presenting cells and transduces inhibitory signals to modulate immune responses, control inflammation, and prevent autoreactivity. Multiple transcript variants exist.
