Description:
The WM-15 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD13 (aminopeptidase N), a transmembrane ectoenzyme expressed on monocytes and granulocytes but not on lymphocytes. CD13 is found in various cell types and tissues, including endothelial cells, epithelial cells, fibroblasts, kidney proximal tubules, intestine, and placenta. It participates in peptide degradation, amino acid scavenging, antigen processing, and cell adhesion and migration.

Applications Reported:
The WM-15 (WM15) antibody is suitable for flow cytometric analysis and microscopy.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of lysed whole blood. Recommended use ≤1 µg/test in 100 µL final volume. Cell number can range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimal dilution should be determined empirically.

Target Information

CD13 (ANPEP) is a 150–170 kDa type II transmembrane zinc-binding ectopeptidase expressed on various cell types. It catalyzes removal of neutral amino acids from small peptides, regulating bioactive peptide activity. CD13 is involved in extracellular matrix degradation, antigen processing, signal transduction, inflammation, cell motility, and vascularization. It is expressed by granulocytes, monocytes, and myeloid leukemia cells, and its expression is associated with poor carcinoma prognosis. CD13 also functions as an aminopeptidase enzyme and serves as an alpha receptor for coronavirus.
