Optineurin은 coiled-coil 구조를 포함한 단백질로, 정상안압 녹내장 및 성인 발병 개방각 녹내장과 관련이 있을 수 있습니다.
이 단백질은 adenovirus E3-14.7K 단백질과 상호작용하며, TNF-α 또는 Fas-ligand 경로를 통해 세포자멸사, 염증, 혈관수축에 관여할 수 있습니다. 또한 RAB8, huntingtin, transcription factor IIIA 단백질과의 상호작용을 통해 세포 형태형성, 소포 수송, 전사 활성화에 기능할 수 있습니다.
대체 스플라이싱을 통해 동일 단백질을 암호화하는 여러 전사 변이체가 생성될 수 있습니다.
